EXPERIENCE

T21 SOLUTIONS, LLC – Orlando, Florida                                                                                                                  2010 – Present

Owner/Practice Leader

Founder and owner of the company, leading a team of four and coordinating the work of as many as 30 contractors at a time in support of client projects. Launched a start-up consultancy focused on “talent for the 21st century” (T21) training and technology in support of alternative workforce strategies, connecting job seekers with employers with project management support.

  • Developed change management and training programs to support non-profit business goals, including organizational structure and design, compensation and incentive systems, and coaching.
  • In partnership with Rollins Philanthropy and Non-profit Leadership Center, developed and implemented governance, customer service, and technology training for Florida’s workforce system.
  • Speaker at state and national conferences on the topics of crowdsourcing, technology, virtual teams and the “future of work.”
  • Created and launched VETsourcing, a job development initiative and training partnership with Valencia College for military veterans to overcome challenges of transitioning and becoming economically self-sufficient.

STATE OF FLORIDA – Orlando, Florida and Tallahassee, Florida                                                         2005 – 2010

Vice President, Workforce Readiness & Performance  – Workforce Florida (2008 – 2010)

Reported to the president and CEO, and directly supported four directors on the board. Supervised a team of six in program management, performance measurement, and policy development. Advised the governor’s staff and agency officials on workforce investment strategies and priorities. Developed Workforce Training Institute for online delivery of program, technical and development training in support of 24 regional workforce boards, board members and other key partners. As policy executive, directly interfaced with state leadership, board of directors, state and national agencies and stakeholders.

  • Completely revamped state performance measurement system, introducing “Balanced Scorecard 2.0” methodology to focus on results (not activity) and align workforce investments to aspirational targets.
  • Designed online platforms for future workforce strategies including aging workers, veterans, freelancers and college graduates, recognized by US Department of Labor in a national competition.
  • Received Florida Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Award for leadership on strategic development of innovation and talent strategies in support of state’s 2030 vision.

Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations – Enterprise Florida (2007)

Reported to the senior vice president for external affairs and supervised a cross-functional team of five in economic development, board of directors management, internal and external communication, and policy development. Served as key advisor to the CEO and the governor’s board of directors overseeing economic development investment, policy and business engagement. Advised board of directors and executive committee and managed investor relations, military affairs and communications staff.

  • Created and managed Business Climate Roundtable forums around the state to engage current and potential investors in the leadership and stewardship of Florida’s economic development goals.
  • Created and implemented an onboarding and education strategy to ensure sharing and understanding of corporate goals at all levels, from employees to board members.

Director, Organizational Excellence  – Enterprise Florida (2005 – 2006)

Reported to the chief financial officer and supervised a two-person team in the creation of a comprehensive learning and development program, performance management, compensation and incentive planning. Developed and implemented assessment and training programs for all staff levels, applying Lominger Leadership Architect, FYI and other industry leading tools contributing to a record performance year.

  • Designed and managed recruiting and talent programs at entry-level professional, expert and executive levels through strong national network of headhunters, universities and statewide partners.
  • Adapted “Good to Great” methodology and coached effective re-alignment of performance management, compensation, incentive and results management systems across the company.

SIEMENS AG – Orlando, Florida and Erlangen, Germany                                                                          2001 – 2005

Manager, Employee Communications  (2005)

Reported to the vice president for global corporate communications, supervising a diverse team of 15 professionals in the U.S. and Germany. Developed communication strategies, methods and tactics to reach a global audience, ensuring connectivity between executive goals and the alignment of employee engagement efforts. Managed global employee and leadership communications for the 30,000 employee power generation business.

  • Implemented worldwide communication strategy for “Power Generation Quality Culture” using Prosci change management process and a cascaded, results-oriented communication approach.

Project Manager, Global Service Business Communications  (2003 – 2004)

Reported dually to the director of human resources for the service division and the corporate director of communication in a matrix, coordinating the activities of six communication and creative services professionals and directly advising the division president on internal and leadership communication. As the global communications lead (key account representative) for this $2 billion power generation service division, led HR, employee and marketing communications and provided direct support to the launch and ramp up of two organic businesses and two acquisitions.

  • Provided key account management support for internal communications and employee engagement after the Siemens acquisition of Bonus Energy.
  • Redesigned internal communication vehicles, including intranet, newsletter and global forums, to directly align to division CEO goals and business results with real time “pulse” tools to test resonance.

Senior Human Resources Administrator, Employee Communications  (2001 – 2003)

Reported to the senior director of global human resources strategy, supervising three professionals in the post-merger integration and development of talent management programs in the U.S. and Germany. Managed all human resources programmatic and Siemens – Westinghouse integration communications, global employee opinion survey processes, and led employee engagement initiatives for the Americas and Germany.

  • Supported post-merger integration of human resources systems and harmonization of policies following the Siemens acquisition of Westinghouse.
  • Developed intervention strategies to help business managers address areas of concern in the employee survey results, and served as an internal team leader for global HR programs and initiatives.

Reported to the executive vice president for customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement, and directly advised the president and CEO on internal communication, messaging and speechwriting. Developed, launched and managed company’s communications function, with strong focus on customer satisfaction drivers and continuous improvement and Six Sigma for Service programs.

  • Assisted in the design, development and implementation of a shared services model and alignment of sister company Exhibitgroup Giltspur.
